In order to reduce our environmental impact, we work with several organisations in Sydney and around the world. Whenever we remove rubbish, we plant multiple trees, making the entire process carbon neutral. That includes the emissions from both, our trucks as well as your rubbish. With your help and the support of our partners, we have planted more than 105,000 trees, making Ridly and all the rubbish we ever removed carbon neutral.In addition to our tree planting initiatives, we are also a proud supporter of OzHarvest, helping them to tackle Australia's growing problem of food waste by donating meals for people in need with every job completed.

It takes a village to raise a forest

There are many tree planting projects out there, but the difference for us, and the reason we chose to partner with Eden Reforestation Projects, is their holistic approach. Eden Reforestation Projects' unique “Employ-to-Plant '' methodology: provide sustainable employment to local people to restore and protect their natural environment, is something that spoke to our brand values in regards to having a broader vision of creating a solution to an environmental issue with an empowering social approach. To us, environmental and social challenges go hand in hand, we feel we need to address both simultaneously to effectively overcome them.

As a waste removal company, our goal is not only to recycle waste, but also to reduce waste in any way we can. To achieve this, we support / partnered with Ozharvest to not only save food from going to waste, but also to educate people on how to handle food to avoid unnecessary food waste. In addition to reducing waste and educating people, it also reduces carbon emissions, as 1 kg of food waste saved equals 2.5 kg less CO2 in the atmosphere.

What we like about Trees for the Futures is that they are dedicated to eliminate hunger and poverty by training farmers to regenerate their land. How do they do it? It starts with trees. Through their four-year training program, called the Forest Garden Approach, farmers plant thousands of trees that protect and return nutrients to the soil. This helps farmers grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. Forest Garden farmers realise increases in income and access to food, even in the first year, all while improving the environment.
